Jocelyn Apicello, DrPH, is the co-owner/co-operator of Longhaul Farm in Garrison, NY, a micro-farm that practices organic, bio-intensive growing methods. At Longhaul Farm she offers a CSA and also raises pork and poultry. In addition to farming alongside her husband, she also is the co-founder of the Ecological Citizen’s Project, a non-profit organization that builds community-led campaigns for a more equitable, healthy, democratic and sustainable way-of-life. As a public health professional, Dr. Apicello teaches for the Bard Prison Initiative and William Paterson University, and also works to revive prison gardens and to re-introduce her students to agrarian stewardship of the land.
